Texting a friend to say you are home, wearing headphones but playing no music, looking over your shoulder on the bus...these are behaviours that should not come naturally to women. If we continue to accept that women are less safe than men on our streets, then we accept discrimination & we accept human rights abuses. The new taskforce on safety in Dublin is much welcomed, and I call for a women's safety advisor to be included as part of this taskforce. As a member of the @EP_GenderEqual committee I am happy to support the EU Directive on combatting violence against women, congrats to @FitzgeraldFrncs for all her work on this Directive. #EPlenary

@BarryAndrewsMEP There are people running around the city fighting in the streets with machetes. Hard to see from Dun Laoghaire though. There’s always X videos though.
